Patton Oswalt:  Everything I know I learned from the Movies

Image 1In his latest book, “Silver Screen: Learning about life from an addiction to film”, Patton Oswalt shares his coming of age as a performer and writer in the late ’90s--- while obsessively watching classic films at the legendary New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles.

Old Movies became Patton’s guide to life, shaping his ideas of  acting, writing, comedy, and relationships. Oswalt’s memoir chronicles his journey from fledgling stand-up comedian to self-assured sitcom actor, with the colorful New Beverly collective supporting him all along the way. 

Patton Oswalt: Everything I Know I Learned From The Movies!Patton Oswalt is an American stand-up comedian, writer, actor and voice actor known for roles like Spencer Olchin in the sitcom “The King Of Queens” mand as the voice of Remy in the film Ratatouille.  He also provided the voice of Thrasher, a robot protagonist from the Cartoon Network show Robotomy.  And you can also catch him as the narrator on the TV series, The Goldbergs.   Oswalt's stand up comedy covers topics ranging from comic book supervillains and 1980s glam metal to deeper social issues like American excess, materialism, foreign policy and religion. In January 2011, Oswalt released his first book, Zombie Spaceship Wasteland.
