Soprano Renée Fleming made her very first appearance here in the Valley Wednesday at the Mesa Arts Center. A recital of works from “off the beaten path”—music by Cantaloube, Mozart, Strauss and Delibes. The program, "Guilty Pleasures" is also the title of the recording she released last fall. Lots of concerts this weekend, including a special program presented by The Sonoran Desert Chorale: The Requiem for the Fallen---a concert honoring the heroes of this nation who have given "the last full measure of devotion" in service to our country. The concerts are a prelude to the Sonoran Desert Chorale’s European tour this June, where they perform in Normandy as part of the official 70th Anniversary of D-Day.

The Phoenix Chorale has announced that Chandos will be releasing their recording of Rachmaninoff's "Vespers" next year - a CD they'll be making with the Kansas City Chorale.
